# About

I'm Tai — a software engineer with over a decade of experience building for the web. I started out deep in CSS as a frontend developer and grew into full-stack work: web portals for the insurance industry, serverless platforms for PBS.org subsidiaries, and plenty in between. I care about systems that are intuitive for the people using them and the people maintaining them.

These days my work covers a little bit of everything. In a given week that might mean a blockchain-backed collectibles marketplace, a Laravel API, a mobile app shipped through the iOS and Android app stores, or a WordPress site reborn with an Astro frontend and Shopify and Klaviyo wired in. I enjoy taking a project from a spec on a page to running in production — and keeping it running.

Good software is a team sport, so I work closely with the people around the code — business, marketing, design — and I pay attention to where the web is heading so the things I build don't fall behind.

Away from the keyboard I like to paint, make music, ride bikes, and jump rope — always chasing the next trick. Mostly I just like solving problems or puzzles, whatever shape they come in.

This site is my personal playground: a place to try new technologies and share candid thoughts about web development. The current iteration is built with Astro and Tailwind CSS, and hosted on Netlify.
